Refreshing the data in the previuos window on the basis of selected current Window data without app level even listener

Hi

I have come across a situation in which i have to change the data in the previous window on the basis of data selected from parent window but i want to do this without using app level event listeners which could become the cause of app leak could you possibly tell me a better solution for this?
