TableView not being updated sometimes when calling reset on Collection with new data

I am on SDK 3.5.1.GA and seeing an issue where sometimes a tableview that is using a Collection as its data source is not being updated when a call reset on the collection with new data. The collection is defined in the view xml file. This was working fine in 3.4.0.GA, but started happening in 3.5.0.GA. Update to 3.5.1.GA still has same issue. Has anyone else seen something like this?
