Best way to display read only large amount of text

Hi,

I currently have a textarea with a large amount of text. So much so that it needs to be able to scroll on the screen. I want to be able to make it read only so no keyboard is presented. Also I want to be able to include line breaks in the text. Right now it renders the /n instead of creating a line break. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,
