How to speed up the visualization of images?

Hi, I have a simpe code with a scrollView where I can choose between thumbnail images and, after choosing, I see the image. The fact is that the image is shown just after a little while (less than one sec.) and not immediately. Of course the images are very small (less than 50K) Is there a way to preload images? Thanks
